Russell J. Young: Photographer, fine art printer, visual & oral storyteller, director, scenic designer, and lighting designer.

Motivated by his love of nature and visual arts, he has traveled and photographed in over thirty countries, developing his passion for visual works, and drawing influence from the elements of various art forms in the process. In addition to spending a great deal of artistic time alone in nature, he also collaborates with many artists in theater, music, film, visual arts, and poetry projects, and seeks to experience the wonder and intrigue of how each can shape his artistic vision. Russell’s photographs have been exhibited in Luxembourg’s Abbaye de Neumunster in collaboration with photographer Scott Eastman, as an official project of the European Capital of Culture. His creative works have appeared in museum exhibitions such as Romania, Cultures and Tradition at the Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale WA, Between East and West at the Mingei International Museum of Art in San Diego, and Romania Today Photography, an exhibition at the Romanian Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, along with other exhibitions across the United States and Europe. His photography has been shown at the Portland Art Museum as part of the Writer’s Residency Program and his collaborative efforts with poets has produced works for In Response, an exhibition of print and projected photography, poetry and music.
